Most of the readers may know well about this book and I don't want to bluff a lot about the things you may find in Wikipedia.

Still this short summary of the book for dear readers:

This Amazing novel was published in 2005 by Jonathan Safran Foer.

He has been my favourite since reading this book.

The story of the book is narrated by a nine year old boy called Osker Schell who has lost his father called Thomas Schell in the September 11th tragic attack!

From that early age Oskar loved to find things and explore. He has a very good yet strange character; however since he has lost his father nothing seemed perfect for him, he never thought anyone could fill that gap for him in his chest.

In the horror of losing his dad's memories forever, one day when he was looking through his dad's room inside a vase Oskar finds a key that he thinks belongs to his father.

Since then he will go on searching for that key's locker.

A nine year old boy suffering from Insomnia, panic attacks and depression searches every locker, every place, every thing that would lead him to his father's locker or something that would ease his pain.

In his embarking journey he will meet different people and will know different things.

He has only one clue! Black!

This novel actually has a parallel narrator which at the end will combine with the main story and you will be stunned by the gracious writing of the author.

Personally when I was reading this I could possibly feel that the narrator is actually a child and the parallel narrator is actually a very different person.

It has good plot and writing about the attack of 9/11 that has a great impact on everyone specially writers or those who want to express themselves in a way.

Foer couldn't help but writing about it and as he himself said," I think it's risky to avoid what is right in front of you".

Writing about tragic moments that we have always gives us a way to fight for our feelings or to feel them and release them.

As an Afghan girl when I go back to the feeling of our tragedy I feel the same like the author and the narrator.

Every one of us is fighting a battle against life and we will fight in our own ways some with swords, gun and some with pens and knowledge! I hope I am the latter.
