Pride and Prejudice is a classical novel by the author Jane Austen published in 1813.

Summary: The story begins with an interaction of husband and wife (Mr and Mrs Bennet) to invite a young rich man Mr Bingley to their house, as Mrs Bennet has five daughters and her only wish is to marry them in rich families and have a very good fortune.

The story takes place in different places of England, most importantly in a village called Meryton in Hertfordshire.

In these era of love, dance balls, classical places and interactions you will encounter different families and different values of lives, but most certainly the book is based on the love story of Mr Bennet's favourite daughter Elizabeth and a young well fortune yet proud man Mr Darcy.

You will face the warmth of love and the taste of literature and most sufficiently the lesson of pride and prejudice.

Importance: This novel is the most loved among literacy scholars and it has been taught in high schools.

It has the taste of fine classical literature.

Everyone at least once should read this novel.

Personal evaluation of the book:

The first time, I saw a picture in social media where a girl reads this book (Persian version) with a very beautiful cover on it. Then I have decided to read this book with the same cover, so my first judgment of the book was from the cover.

Later on by the sense of pride itself I couldn't borrow the book from the very person that has it with the same cover page; however I managed to read it in Persian with that cover and I enjoyed it a lot. The very thing that I suffered from reading it that time was that how girls in that era or even in this era tend to find husbands and there is no better goal for them than to settle down with husband, infact I don't judge this for something bad only that it shouldn't be the very first and last wish of every girl.

I love the movie of this book even more, it will make you fall in love with the vibe of books and autumn.

Now after years I read it again in English and after many years rereading it I realized the immense value of this book and why it is so popular and why it is one of the books that is being taught in high schools.

People debate of it and discuss great deal of matters.

Some matters that I think I might share:

  1. Some times what we see and what is true are opposite to each other. People seem nice and encouraging from outside, yet they might have dark and selfish inner side and vice versa.

  2. Pride will lead you to being conceited person, while do not merge vanity with self-protectionism

  3. It is the manner that defines the class of a person not the degree of fortune they posses. A person with high quality can be mean and mannerless.

  4. You are not defined by your marital status but by what you deliver to world, it is fine to marry and have life but it is not okay to think of it each and every single time and make it your only priority, because you may lose your self decision making and pride over it.

  5. Marriage is the key to happiness and eternal peace. Those who marry for money or stability soon face crises and lack of everything, yet if a person marries by heart and affection will find ease and compatibility.

Every line of the book will teach you something immense.

You will get the knowledge that sometimes seeing is not believing.

You may make mistake judging people, so first see and evaluate then proceed.

I know this book is very famous so I really want to know your opinion, please leave comments below!
